Sea lettuce is a seaweed with a vegetable taste reminiscent of spinach or sorrel, with aromatic marine and iodine notes. It owes its name to the green color it derives from its high chlorophyll content. Sea lettuce is rich in nutrients, including protein, iodine, iron, calcium, magnesium, vitamin B12, and fiber.

The seaweed from Un océan de saveurs is certified organic and is sustainably hand-picked.

Preparation

Sea lettuce is especially versatile, and it can replace leafy vegetables such as spinach or kale in your usual recipes. It can also be used in quiches, omelets, soups and salads, or to flavor a butter to accompany seafood or grilled vegetables. As sea lettuce is a slightly firmer seaweed, we recommend cooking it for around 15 minutes for it to obtain the ideal texture.

Flavor Pairings

Sea lettuce pairs wellwith sea food, fish and grilled vegetables.

I haven't used it

Unfortunately I haven't tried sea lettuce yet. I need to check "how" to use it on your site and I haven't had time yet. I would like to know how to cook it before use please

Hello Agnes,
Here are some tips: sea lettuce can replace leafy vegetables like spinach or kale in your usual recipes. It can also be used in quiches, omelettes, soups, salads, or to flavor a butter that will accompany seafood or grilled vegetables. Since sea lettuce is a slightly firmer seaweed, we recommend cooking it for about fifteen minutes to obtain the ideal texture.
Happy cooking!

We are transforming local culinary culture

to put North back on the plate

The North,

It is the land here that nourishes us, from the forests to the fields to the Saint-Lawrence. It is our connection to the cycle of the seasons.

It is a community of farmers, fishermen and artisans who put their know-how at the service of our food and our gourmet pleasures.

In return, we highlight the fruit of their work through the exceptional condiments that we create and our selection of local products, in a spirit of short supply chain and respect for the environment
