Dehydrated black trumpets

$11.99

Black trumpets are exceptional wild mushrooms with a delicate texture. Their creamy, buttery aroma reminiscent of a runny brie combined with the umami of a forest mushroom make them true flavor bombs. They are sometimes called “horns of plenty” because of their shape, but one could also argue that their abundance of flavor justifies the name.

Very difficult to spot when picking in the forest, due to their dark color blending into the carpet of dead leaves on the ground, they are rare finds and all the more precious. You have to take the time to savor each bite.

Preparation

Black trumpets are more than delicious in a luxurious risotto or a cream sauce on fresh pasta.
To rehydrate black trumpets, soak them in a very hot liquid (broth, cream, wine, beer, water) until they are tender again—15 to 20 minutes should be enough. Then, remove them and stir them into your recipe. Save the rehydration liquid to make homemade sauces or stocks—it's full of flavor!

Flavor Pairings

Black trumpets pair very well with butter, onions, shallots and garlic, parsley, rice, sage, thyme and white wine.

Conservation

Dried, black trumpets can be stored for a long time away from humidity and light. We still advise you to eat them quickly within 12 months of purchase to enjoy their best flavor potential.

Easy to cook

I added some of these mushrooms to white mushrooms for a soup. Very fine taste.

Thank you very much, France, for the kind words!

We are transforming local culinary culture

to put North back on the plate

The North,

It is the land here that nourishes us, from the forests to the fields to the Saint-Lawrence. It is our connection to the cycle of the seasons.

It is a community of farmers, fishermen and artisans who put their know-how at the service of our food and our gourmet pleasures.

In return, we highlight the fruit of their work through the exceptional condiments that we create and our selection of local products, in a spirit of short supply chain and respect for the environment
