The haskap is a rising star in the world of berries. Its flavors are unique, but are reminiscent of blueberry, raspberry, and plum. Long consumed in Japan, where it earned the nickname "longevity fruit", haskap berries were introduced to Québec in 2007, where they adapted perfectly to the northern climate.

We offer juicy, full-flavored organic haskap berries with an impeccable sugar-acidity balance. Varieties offered will vary between Indigo Treat, Tundra, Boreal Beast, and Aurora, depending on the season.

Haskap berries must be meticulously picked by hand. Since the berry is small, very juicy and quite fragile, it takes about twice as long to pick as strawberries. But we guarantee that their taste is definitely worth the effort!

Flavor Pairings

Haskap berries are delicious sweetened with cream, sweet clover, vanilla, oats, buckwheat, yogurt, mascarpone or milk, dark or white chocolate! In savory dishes, they go perfectly with game meats, duck, and many varieties of cheese. Their flavor can also be enhanced by mint.

Preparation

Anything you can do with blueberries and raspberries, you can do with haskap berries. We suggest brownies with haskap berry coulis, jams, cocktails, frozen desserts, pies, and more! However, as fresh as they are, you shouldn't deprive yourself of enjoying them as is, with a hint of wildflower honey and a dash of whipped cream!

Conservation

Fresh haskap berries will last for at least a week in their basket in the fridge... that is, if you haven't already eaten them all! Like most berries, they'll last longer if they haven't been rinsed beforehand. We therefore recommend rinsing only those you are about to eat.

Delicious haskap berries!

I ordered 4 liters of organic haskap berries from Racines boréales. The haskap berries are succulent, fresh as can be and not a single one is moldy. I made about twenty small pots of compotes for my personal reserve and/or to give as gifts. Two medium bags of fresh haskap berries stored in the freezer for future recipes... and one, two or three good handfuls of haskap berries that I ate as soon as I received them. Haha! A pure delight of vitamin-rich health that had me ravenous in no time.
The delivery service is fast and courteous. I opened my door to a radiant and smiling Marie-Philippe. I recommend Racine boréale for the haskap berries but also for their other quality local products. Thank you!!! Anne Évangéline 07/23/2022

We are transforming local culinary culture

to put the North on the plate

The North,

It is the land here that nourishes us, from the forests to the fields to the Saint-Laurent. It is our connection to the cycle of the seasons.

It is a community of farmers, fishermen and artisans who put their know-how at the service of our food and our gourmet pleasures.

In return, we highlight the fruit of their work through the exceptional condiments that we create and our selection of local products, in a spirit of short supply chain and respect for the environment.
